I'm just messing around with the awesomeness that is my tablet. Being able to twist the drawing around and move the screen to fit my needs really rocks. More to come.

Cintiq
So, My graduation present was a 24inch HD Wacom Cintiq. I've been trying to get used to it because you have to draw more normally and less with a flick of your wrist. It's so nice! I'm incredibly satisfied and cannot wait until I hone in on a style that I can do easily and with consistency.
Here are some images I have been doing over the past two weeks or so to practice. I realize I'm trying too hard in some and now I'm just sort of putzing around trying to find what I want to do.
The first sketches are of Disney Characters that don't get much love. I'm going to continue this series and hopefully get better as I keep practicing and trying new techniques out. Kida from Atlantis, Esmeralda from Hunch Back, Jane from Tarzan, and Megara from Hercules.
These are original characters. The two images are of Daerua and Errandis. I wanted to do some stylistic things, I think they turned out alright.
This image is purely practice. I pulled an image with strong color and used it as a sort of faux-pallet. I also wanted to work in the lines I tend to be drawn to. I'm working on another piece but it's not turning out as nice.
Th-that's all folks~ Until next time (hopefully next week)!

Wrapped up
So, I realized I've neglected you, oh pretty blog, for more of an instant gratification through tumblr. I do feel bad, so here I am...gonna post some of my last images from school. I'm now a proud graduate from Califorina State University Northridge and I am soaking up some free time. I haven't done any good finished drawings since being out, but that's okay. So, here we go!
This was the 8th assignment we were given in my Illustration class. We had to find a product and create a one page Ad for it. I naturally chose hair products and Photoshopped some bottles in. I think this was one of my most successful for all time. I really enjoyed doing it and everyone responded to it very well.
My final illustration for this class was another really successful one. We had to do another editorial and we were given free reign. This piece could also work for a poster. It was based off an article about fostering your creativity and I came up with the images using the "Matrix Method" where you can lay random stuff out and pick things you may not have normally thought to put together.
In my Digital Illustration class all we worked on was our final for Robin Hood. I decided to scrap the traditional story and go with something more interesting where Maid Marion is also Robin Hood and wears a reddish orange cap like the red breasted robin's of Europe. Her love interest is Lil John. I even went cartoony with this one! What was hardest about this was stripping my logical mind and letting design take over. I didn't get it completely but it surely pushed me to think about things differently!
In my Maya class I finished up my 3D Midterm and we did a final project of lighting, modelling, and texturing a room. We didn't have a lot of time and I don't have them on this computer! Next post! Thanks for looking and for supporting me!

Here is the 9th assignment we had to do some portraits. I chose to do my parents. I drew the images in pen and ink, digitally colored them, had them printed out, and lastly sewed stitches on to the lines. It was a mixed media assignment. Now that I see it, I wish I had really embraced the multi-media aspect but when you've only got a week and a half to do something at the end of the semester, your time is thin and ideas come when you're half way through.
